«Vines & Wine» Hike
A walk through the vineyards on the shores of the Untersee, past castles, palaces and stunning landscapes. Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a glass of fine wine.
The vineyard trail from Tägerwilen to Steckborn provides information on the history of viticulture on Lake Constance, pays tribute to the now famous Mr Müller from Thurgau, and leads to the most beautiful castles on Lake Constance.
The Vinorama Museum in Ermatingen, which houses an exhibition on the history of viticulture in its coach house, has, with the support of the Pro Helvetia Foundation, equipped this trail with information boards on viticulture and a detailed route description. In addition to the permanent exhibition on life around 1900 in the Ammann family’s original rooms, the museum offers a collection of cookery books featuring rare volumes.
This makes the walk, which leads between the lakeshore and the hills to the most charming vantage points, a rich and varied experience.
