Thurgau Vineyard Trail

This scenic walk offers unique views of the Thur Valley and the Alps in the distance all along the route.

From Oberneunforn, the path heads south, continuing up a lovely climb to Niederneunforn. This is where the great walk through the vineyards along the famous Iselisberg begins. On this high-altitude trail, you can enjoy unique panoramic views of the Thur Valley and the Alps in the distance. A particular highlight are the numerous charming winegrowers’ cottages along the route. The trail now leads, partly through a cool, flora-rich woodland, to the former Carthusian monastery, Kartause Ittingen, in Warth.

Today, the Kartause, as an institution, is a vibrant cultural and conference centre and houses the Thurgau Art Museum, as well as a restaurant and a shop selling its own produce. From here, the trail runs alongside the River Thur, where you may also spot traces of beavers. The trail crosses the River Thur via the Rohrerbrücke bridge
